Deadheads By Peacemode
Create album covers and marketing concept for Peacemode’s debut album.
My role. Concept and production (photography, videography and 3D)
Team: Pablo Durban
Background
The band Peacemode released their first album, deadheads. The EP title comes from deadheading, the process of removing dead flower heads to make way for new growth. The style of music is soft rock/punk but the brand was open to interpretations with specific preferences towards the post-punk era.
Challenge
Create EP cover, 3 single sleeves followed by an experimental marketing campaign that gains awareness and a buzz.
Solution
Our creative proposition was suffocation. Meatheads stuck in the norms of society, break out to receive new life. We connected meatheads with meatpacking, to create something provocative that creates a reaction.
Creative proposition
Suffocation. Meatheads stuck in the norms of society and routine, break out to receive new life. We connected deadheads with meatheads, the art direction is inspired by meat packaging to create a provocative reaction.
Typography is inspired by meat packaging label. On the vinyl eps, the label will be printed on the same material. The label will reach across from the front to back, so in order to pick out the vinyl, one has to rip it open.
Launch activation. An intriguing experience, with a modernised butcher shop appearance. In the pop-up, the album will be available to buy as vinyl.
